BDCi TV – movie suggestion for the weekend: “You’re Next”
SAN FRANCISCO (BDCi) — It’s back to school time and every semester starts with much partying and movie nights with friends.
BDCi TV would like to suggest the movie “You’re Next” . The film runs about 95 minutes and has generally received good reviews for its’ use of humor through the dark plot which it entails. It features stars Sharni Vinson, Nicholas Tucci, Wendy Glenn, A.J. Bowen, Joe Swinberg, Barbara Crampton, and Rob Moran.
The strategy of the film is simple and grotesque. Essentially a mass murderer attacks people when they least expect it, slaughters them, and then proceeds to write the chilling words “You’re Next”, hence the title, on walls wherever he or she goes in blood. Sound epic? Maybe so.
While several reviews of the film call it exciting and classic horror at its’ finest, the plot has been described as unoriginal. But who can resist a classic horror movie at 2 a.m.? While some viewers may find the lack of unique qualities disturbing, let us not forget the genre of this movie. Most horror films fall under classic patterns and rules to which certifies a delicious recipe for intoxicating terror.
