Brazilian documentary to debut in Los Angeles
LOS ANGELES (BDCi) — The Brazilian documentary “Who Cares?”” by Brazilian filmmaker Mara Mourao is scheduled to debut in Los Angeles on October 14 at LA Femme Filme Festival.

According to critics is more than a film, it is a movement to inspire people to be the change they want to see in the world.

The film is about the rapidly growing movement of Social Entrepreneurship, brilliant people with innovative ideas that are creating thousands of social organizations around the world. Shot in seven different countries: Brazil, Peru, Tanzania, USA, Canada, Germany and Switzerland, the film focuses on people who have taken it upon themselves to improve societies that are lacking. Among them: Karen Tse, from Switzerland, whose International Bridges for Justice provides legal support for emerging democracies and Isaac Durojayie, who brought public toilets to Nigeria. Perhaps the biggest contribution from these people is the belief that it is possible to eliminate the major problems of humanity.

Recently, the movie opened with great reviews in Brazil becoming a movement in the social networks. According to their public relations, about 10 thousand people are talking about “”Who Cares?”” on Facebook, which has also screened at the 13th Social Enterprise Conference at Harvard earlier this year.

“”Our goal was to disseminate content about this new way of living life, about what we can learn from this amazing group of people who can look at the world’s biggest problems as opportunities and not impossible obstacles. We truly believe that their work can be very inspiring, especially for the youth. So we have built a strategy to reach people all over the world.”” said Mourao

The Brazilian filmmaker has written, produced, and directed 3 feature films, among them “”Overwhelming Women”” released by Fox in 2002. “”Who Cares?”” was written and directed by Mara Mourao, and produced by Tatiana Battaglia.

The film will screen on Sunday, at the LA Femme Film Festival on Sunday October 14 at 2 pm at the Renberg Theater in Hollywood. For tickets and more information, please visit: www.lafemme.org and http://www.whocaresthefilm.com
