Gunman at CSUN campus turns himself in
NORTHRIDGE, CA — The man claiming to have brought a gun onto the Cal State Northridge campus Tuesday is now in custody, university officials said.

Gahren Moradian, 22, of Burbank turned himself in to authorities about 8 p.m. Tuesday.

The philosophy major is charged with making criminal threats.
The drama unfolded Tuesday when campus police received a report of a man with a gun at the Oviatt Library around 10:30 a.m.

University police immediately evacuated those inside the building and launched a thorough search.

A picture was released of the student, who was described as a white male, roughly 5 feet 9 inches tall with short, dark, spiky hair.

He wore a white t-shirt reading, “Human Rights Violatin” (sic) on the back.

Witnesses said the young man was mumbling and appeared to be in some distress.

He indicated to fellow students that he had a gun and intended to use it.

No actual weapon was seen.
